About STPI Tirupati

STPI TirupatiEstablished on 5th June 1991, Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), an autonomous society under the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, has since emerged as the growth driver of Indian IT/ITeS/ESDM industry. With a mandate to promote software and electronic hardware exports from the country by implementing Software Technology Park (STP) & Electronic Hardware Technology Park (EHTP) Schemes, STPI pioneered the ease of doing business for policy governance in India by building a robust ecosystem to provide single window clearance services, world-class internet connectivity, state-of-the-art incubation facilities and other infrastructure services to encourage, promote and boost software exports.

STPI’s main objective has been the promotion of software exports from the country. STPI acts as single-window in providing services to the software exporters. The services rendered by STPI for the software exporting community have been statutory services, data communications services, incubation facilities, training and value added services. STPI has played a key developmental role in the promotion of software exports with a special focus on SMEs and start up units.

STPI has been implementing the Software Technology Park (STP) scheme and the Electronics Hardware Technology Park (EHTP) scheme for the promotion of IT/ITES industry. The phenomenal success of the IT-ITES industry has been possible, inter-alia, due to pivotal role played by the STP Scheme. STP Scheme is a unique scheme, designed to promote the software industry and growth of startups and SMEs without any locational constraints

STPI- Tirupati was established in the year 2001.STPI has developed IT Incubation Center in the year 2009. Around 23 startup Companies utilized the facility and gone out for further office expansion. Past three years our incubation facility is fully occupied.

About Tirupati

Tirupati is a city in Chittoor district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. This place is a major pilgrimage and cultural centre in the Chittoor District of Andhra Pradesh (Sun Rise State). It is located at the foothills of the Eastern Ghats at a distance of 150 km from Chennai and 250 km from Bengaluru cities. Tirupati is well connected by air, rail and road. Tirupati Urban region is highly going in advance in terms of overall infrastructure, sustainable real estate, communications and market viability. This city is looking forward in the development of Information Technology and in providing essential services to residents. The city is home to most famous and important Vaishnavite shrine of TirumalaVenkateswara Temple and other historic temples and is referred to as the "Spiritual Capital of Andhra Pradesh". It is one of the eight Swayam vyaktha kshetras dedicated to Vishnu. Tirupati is a municipal corporation and the headquarters of Tirupati (urban) mandal, and of the Tirupati revenue division. As of 2011 census, it had a population of 287,035 making it the 9th most populous city in Andhra Pradesh. It is the seventh most urban agglomerated city in the state, with a population of 459,985. It is the second biggest city in Rayalaseema after Kurnool. For the year 2012–13, India's Ministry of Tourism named Tirupati as the "Best Heritage City". Tirupati has been selected as one of the hundred Indian cities to be developed as a smart city under Smart Cities Mission by Government of India.

IT/ITES and electronics industry

SriVenkateshwara Mobile and Electronics Manufacturing Hub is a dedicated mobile handset and electronics manufacturing facility located at Tirupati. The Hub is spread over 122 acres (49 ha) Acres out of which Celkon is established in 20 acres, Micromax in 15 acres, Karbonn in 15.28 acres and Lava in 20 acres with a total investment of Rupees 2000 crores. Dixon Technologies has a manufacturing unit in this hub, where they are producing Smart TVs for Xiaomi.
